Software as a service, also popularly known as SaaS is a software distribution setup. It is hosted over the cloud and made available to everyone over the internet. While usually, the software vendor onboards a third-party cloud provider, however big industry players play both the role alone such as Google, Microsoft, Adobe, or Amazon.

SaaS products are not limited to B2B use only. Popular products like Netflix or Spotify are often available to the single consumer which is also categorized as SaaS. The SaaS market is growing rapidly as more and more services are available virtually. The market for SaaS products is estimated to hit $200 billion by 2024.
